When the figurine has dried, it is cleaned with a knife and brush. All unevernnesses and casting seams are removed.

Also each figurine receives an air hole, so that the expanding air can escape during the firing.

After the assembling follows the first firing at 1140°C, the biscuit fire. This first firing gives the ceramic mass its stability and the figurine is no longer fragile.

The figurine looses about 8 % of its weight during the biscuit fire, therefore it becomes smaller.
